How to make an AI zombie couple video

The zombie love story trend in four steps: two photos, one story, no prompt and no timeline editing.

Updated Oct 20, 2026

  1. Upload the survivor photo. Add a clear, front-facing portrait of the person who stays human. One face, even light, no sunglasses. JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB.
  2. Upload the zombie partner photo. Add a portrait of the person who turns. The AI keeps their face and hair and adds pale skin, clouded eyes and torn clothes. Tap ⇄ to swap the roles.
  3. Choose the story, frame and quality. Pick one of 6 directed stories, portrait 9:16 or landscape 16:9, and Standard 720p (1 credit) or HD 1080p (2 credits).
  4. Generate and download. Press Create. In about five minutes you get a 15 second MP4 with music and no watermark. Download it and post it to TikTok, Reels or Shorts.

Photo tips for the best zombie couple video

  • One person per photo, from the chest up, facing the camera.
  • Daylight or a bright room. Avoid harsh flash, backlight and dark selfies.
  • No sunglasses, masks or beauty filters: the recognition moment needs the eyes.
  • The two photos do not need to match, but similar framing looks more natural.
  • Only adults, and only people who agreed. Celebrity and public-figure photos are refused.

Who should be the zombie?

Photo 2 always turns. For a zombie girlfriend video, put her photo there; for a zombie boyfriend video, put his. Friends, siblings and same-sex couples work exactly the same way: roles follow the photo slot, not gender.

Which story should I pick?

  • The Last Embrace: The viral one: a gun you cannot fire, a leap into a hug, and a cut to a sunny memory.
  • Till Death and After: A ruined chapel, tattered wedding clothes and vows that outlived the apocalypse.
  • Rooftop Sunset: Two silhouettes on a rooftop above the dead city, watching the last sunset.
  • Rain Reunion: Neon, rain and a stranger in the street who turns out to be the one you lost.
  • One Last Dance: A slow dance in an empty ballroom, under a dusty chandelier.
  • Before the Fall: Starts on a sunny first date, cuts to the end of the world. Same two people.

New to the trend? The Last Embrace is the closest to the clips that went viral. Read the zombie hug trend explained for where it came from.

Portrait or landscape, 720p or 1080p?

Choose 9:16 portrait for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, and 16:9 landscape for YouTube or a big screen. Standard 720p looks great on phones and costs 1 credit; HD 1080p costs 2 credits and holds up better when the video is shown large. The frame cannot be changed after rendering, so pick it before you press Create.

Do I need CapCut, a filter or a prompt?

No. The video is generated from your photos, not edited from a stock clip, so there is no template to download and no prompt to write. If you are curious what the model is asked for, see the zombie couple AI prompts, and the CapCut template comparison explains the difference.

Questions

Can I use one photo of both of us together?

Crop it into two photos, one face each. Each person then fills the frame and the AI keeps both faces much better than from a small group shot.

How long does it take?

Usually four to ten minutes: a short safety check of the photos, then the render. You can close the page; the finished video waits in My videos.

What if the result does not look like us?

Try sharper, front-facing photos in even light. If a video fails or is blocked, its credits come back automatically, and you can generate again with different photos.
